Summer Reading

Hey everyone,

I picked up "The girl with the dragon tattoo" by Stieg Larsson this evening. I'm only 18 pages in, and it's a little hard to get into but I'm sure it will pick up. Typically during the summer I like to work at libraries and do summer programming for the kids. Last summer I remember the librarians discussing this novel quite a lot, and it seemed racy so I picked it up. Who wouldn't?

I'm curious to know what you all are reading for the summer. Please leave the novel(s) that you are currently reading or intend to read for the summer in the comment box below!

  1. Oh I read that one in early spring right before my surgery.. Don't expect a lot of action, but it does get very interesting. I will say however that I loved the 2nd and 3rd books in the series!! :)

I'm currently reading How Doctors Think, picked it up on suggestions from pm101. I have a couple other medical memoirs, and Greg Isles' True Evil on my list as well. Just finished Greg Isles' Mortal Fear last week, amazing book, very different.

Haven't heard of the last two you mentioned, Michelle, but I should check them out after I'm done this one!

  7. The 2 sequels are *very* different, a lot lot lot more action. I enjoyed the first book, but there's no real action besides like the last 100 pages or something. Worst case, skip this one and you won't be missing too much when starting #2. A little background personality on Salander but you'll still enjoy it. Book #1 is a weird one I'll give you that. I kept on going because my mom and dad told me I'd like it eventually.
